Our Nursery

Butterfly Nursery

We are a voluntary sector nursery with charitable status who works in partnership with Glasgow City Council to provide care and education to children aged 0-5 years.  We are regulated and inspected by both The Care Inspectorate and HMIe.

Our Aims and Ethos

We aim to inspire and give our young ones an opportunity to shine!  Our ethos is centred on the child and we endeavour to portray a home like environment where children are able to develop necessary, but often overlooked, life skills.

We aim to deliver childcare services in the broader local area which will provide affordable and quality care for young children and provide learning and vocational opportunities for their parents as well as contributing to sustainability of employment.

To ensure that, not only is each child cared for in a comfortable, safe and nurturing environment, but that they also have the best start possible on their learning journey that will potentially allow them to fulfil their own aims and ambitions of working or accessing further/higher education.

Online Learning Journals

Online Learning Journals

We use the 'Seesaw' platform which can be downloaded as an app on your device and your child will be issued with their own individual log in.

Online Learning Journals  enable your child’s keyworker to make observations of learning in a fraction of the time it would have taken previously.  This means they are going to have so much more time to play, teach and care for the children instead of filling out paperwork. It’s also extremely environmentally friendly too!

You are also going to have much easier access to the development and progress of your child, and it will be easier for you to contribute too!

PARENT LOGIN

Security

The system is very secure. For the techy types among you the connection is made using a secure server holding a SSL certificate. (Meaning the address starts with https and carries the padlock symbol.)  You will be the only one outside of the nursery that can view your child’s profile and you will access it with a unique username as well as a Password and Pin that you create.

Inspection Report

Government Inspections

Both the Scottish Government HMIE (Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education) and the Care Inspectorate have a duty to check all educational establishments in Scotland on a regular basis. These inspections and reports are both rigorous and independent and they provide parents with an ideal benchmark as to the quality of education and care their children receive at Butterfly nursery. The latest inspection team identified the following key strengths ...

  • learning and development planning ensured our children received positive outcomes

  • consistently responsive staff

  • encouragement of genuine partnerships that respected parent's knowledge of their children

  • The staff team worked effectively together towards shared goals in an environment of trust
